The Summer has kicked off in Northern Romania now for sure and the farmers are back out in their fields getting things sorted for the coming season. To celebrate this, the next village over from Breb throws a yearly festival called Tanjaua (or Tinjaua). Katie heard about this last week and we were all very excited to see what it was all about.
All we knew was that one guy has been in his field before all others and everybody would carry him down to the river to ‘cleanse’ him. Then there’d be a party. Sunday is our day off work and we’re always up for soaking up a little more of the culture here, especially if there’s a party involved!

Here is a selection of photos from our month working for a Bedouin camp owner in Wadi Rum in Jordan. The work was a lot easier than expected. It was winter time so there weren’t a great deal of guests coming through. We had plenty of time to help Eid with his website though.
In our time there we feltlike a part of the family. Eid took us to thefamily get-togethers and treated us to lots of nice experiences. His children were incredible and we also spent lots of time with both his wives.
Wadi Rum is an incredible place. The mountains there are awesome with the echoes bouncing around all over the place, especially during a huge thunderstorm. We even got to see snow! Eid drove us into the middle of the desert with his whole family; we collected firewood and threw...

This is quite a large collection of pictures taken from all around the oasis town of Siwa. It’s an incredibly unique place on the Eastern end of the Sahara Desert, Western Egypt. We spent a pretty awesome 3 months there.
